Cardinals-Commanders injury report: Marquise Brown, Zach Ertz questionable

The Arizona Cardinals face the Washington Commanders in their 2023 opener with top receiving options Marquise Brown and Zach Ertz listed as questionable.

Brown was limited with a hamstring injury, while Ertz has been trying to return from an ACL tear.

Arizona offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum (hand) did not practice Thursday and Friday and is listed as out. He is a top backup with a tackle tandem of D.J. Humphries and rookie first-round pick Paris Johnson. Jr. already expected to start.

Pass-rusher Dennis Gardeck is listed as a full participant (knee) for the third straight day.

For the Commanders, receiver Terry McLaurin was a full participant on Thursday with a toe issue and doesn’t carry an injury designation to end the week.

Pass rusher Chase Young was spotted in pads at practice Wednesday but remained limited as of Friday and was questionable to play, but has since been ruled out. Young has been recovering from a stinger suffered in the first preseason game.

Fellow defensive end James Smith-Williams, who had six sacks a year ago, was added to the injury report Friday with an oblique issue. He is questionable as well.
