Campo Verde sophomore Allison Bufmack focused on spreading positivity

No matter what challenges come her way, Campo Verde sophomore Allison Bufmack will stay positive.

She is about to spread that positivity through her school’s Radiate Club, a student-led organization designed to promote kindness, inclusion and positivity throughout the school community. The club’s goal is to create a welcoming and uplifting environment for all through various events and activities.

Bufmack is one of 10 finalists for Arizona Sports’ Character Counts Scholarship, presented by Parker & Sons.

One activity Bufmack helped with focused on Suicide Prevention Month, when the club created and hung supportive posters throughout the school to help promote mental health awareness.

“Being a part of my high school’s Radiate Club has been an incredible experience for me,” Bufmack said. “I am passionate about spreading kindness, positivity and encouragement through our school and community.”

Bufmack also brings her positivity to athletics. She is both a club and student soccer player, having played the sport since age 6 and currently playing on Campo Verde’s junior varsity team. Off the field, Bufmack participates in fundraisers and community events for her team.

“I have learned and grown so much thanks to soccer,” she said. “The lessons I have learned about teamwork, leadership and resilience have shaped me into the person I am today on and off the field.”

After high school, Bufmack is going to study to become an ultrasound tech.
