ASU football players Harry, Darby interview students undercover

With all the gear that football players wear, it’s easy to understand why these athletes aren’t always easy to recognize off the field.

With all the gear that football players wear, it’s easy to understand why these athletes aren’t always easy to recognize off the field.

N’Keal Harry and Frank Darby took advantage of this as they went around ASU’s Tempe campus and interviewed students about the football team and themselves.

The athletes went around posing as Walter Cronkite sports journalism students Ryan and Jamal who were reporting for “Cronkite Sports.”

There was disbelief from one student they interviewed who couldn’t believe how big these “Cronkite” students were.

“You guys are really Cronkite?” He asked. “You guys are massive.”

Darby, the freshman tight end who caught two touchdown passes and ran another one in last season, responded that “football isn’t for everybody.” While Harry, the sophomore wide receiver with the 14th most receiving yards (1142), the 12th most receptions (82) in the NCAA and eight touchdowns last season, explained that the sport is just “too rough.”

The two football players asked students “what is the best sports team ASU has?” and “what is your favorite ASU event to go to?” Ironically, most of the students didn’t respond with the football team and instead answered saying the basketball or baseball teams. Darby and Harry will be hoping to change that line of thought next year in Herm Edwards’ first season.

Needless to say, ASU fans enjoyed the video and are hoping for more soon.
