Buffalo elements overtake Bills-Pats on Monday Night Football

With the calendar turning over to the final month of the year, December football is among us and here in its full glory.

That was certainly the case for Monday Night Football between the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots, as the weather in Western New York was anything but friendly.

With temperatures in the 30s and wind gusts up to 30 MPH, the elements played a factor from the opening kick.

The opening kickoff went INTO the stands 😧

It didn’t stop there, as both teams went 3-and-out on their opening drives. However, punting the ball back to the opposing team will be no easy feat Monday night.

New England’s punter Jake Bailey’s attempt traveled all but 13 yards, giving the Bills possession in Patriots territory.

The weather is such a factor, the Patriots went for a two-point conversion after scoring the opening touchdown of the game, rather than try kicking against the Buffalo winds.

Monday night’s matchup in Buffalo is a critical one for the battle of the AFC East. At 8-4, the Patriots currently lead the division and also hold the No. 1 seed in the AFC.
