A young D-backs fan clearly felt some embarrassment as he struggled to keep his hat off of the field.

Given that the Arizona Diamondbacks have a 10-22 record at Chase Field this season, it would not be unreasonable to think there have been more than a few instances where fans have buried their faces in their hands out of shame.

It happened Wednesday during Arizona’s 6-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays, though in at least one case, it had nothing to do with the team or its play.

No, this embarrassing moment happened in the eighth inning when a young fan in the left field bleachers dropped his hat onto the field and had it returned to him by D-backs outfielder David Peralta, only to immediately drop it back onto the field.

Needless to say the young man, along with those who were with him, have had better moments in their lives.
