Suns’ Dillon Brooks pokes fun at Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in foul-baiting board game

Move over, Cavity Sam.

Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks and Underdog added a twist to the classic board game Operation at the expense of Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Playing on Gilgeous-Alexander’s well-documented foul-baiting, Unethical Hoops is simple.

“Shai has made hoops all about foul baiting and now you’re stuck guarding him in Underdog’s new board game,” the description of the game reads. “Don’t get baited. Steal the ball without getting whistled.”

Instead of pulling out a butterfly from the tummy or a broken heart, players are forced to pull out nine basketballs all around Gilgeous-Alexander. But touch anything other than the basketball, and the buzzer sounds and a foul is issued.

It’s the types of fouls, though, that really bring it all together:

– Head snap
– Don’t reach
– Phantom contact
– Leg kick
– Rip through
– Push off
– Shoulder bump
– Lean in
– Hook and cook

“Head snap, a lot of people do that. Hook was James Harden’s move,” Brooks said. “Let’s do this. You know I don’t foul.”

Gilgeous-Alexander’s flopping tactics continue to be a point of emphasis this season, especially in these NBA playoffs.

Despite the controversy around that part of Gilgeous-Alexander’s game, the Thunder guard took home his second straight MVP nod this year. He has finished no lower than fifth in MVP voting since 2022-23.

He averaged 31.1 points on 55.3% shooting and 38.6% from deep this season. He added 4.3 rebounds, 6.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game and led the league in free throws with 7.9 per game.

Gilgeous-Alexander was the butt of the joke this time around, but he also did his fair share of shading Brooks following the Suns’ elimination in the playoffs at the hands of OKC with a “Cancun on 3” edit on the Suns forward’s No. 3 jersey.
