Fan finds way to customize a new Kevin Durant Suns jersey

Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant’s reported trade request has Phoenix Suns fans in a frenzy, adding fuel to the fire for those in the fanbase who had the apparently not-so-outlandish dream he could join the Suns from the start of the offseason.

One person already has their own customized Durant Suns jersey.

SunsUniTracker, a fan account on Twitter, posted a picture of the Suns’ road purple top rendering the No. 35 on it with Durant’s name across the back shortly after the news broke.

A commenter named Connor Witt posted a picture of his Dragan Bender jersey, who wore the No. 35 for the Suns from 2016-19, with the name crossed out and Durant’s written above it in silver.

SunsUniTracker replied by saying, “Hey you’ve already got three of the letters necessary to have that converted to a Durant jersey pretty easily.”

So, Witt went to work and did the most he could with all five letters already on the jersey:

It’s unique, certainly, but phonetically works out close enough.

The Suns are reportedly on Durant’s shortlist of desired destinations, although, adding him won’t be easy. Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro reported Brooklyn would not want restricted free agent Deandre Ayton in a deal.

If the Nets do not want Deandre Ayton a third team is likely going to have to be involved that could satisfy what Brooklyn wants if KD is to be traded to Phoenix.

There are other ways to get a trade done, albeit, the Suns may need to get creative.

To those wanting to write Durant’s name in sharpie on their jerseys, perhaps stand by, but don’t lose the pen, either.
