Home run wasn’t to be until two OFs tipped the ball over the wall

This above video clip might best be viewed if you first mute the video and put on Daniel Powter’s “Bad Day.”

That’s because it was a pretty rough day for two Kannapolis Intimidators outfielders.

The Chicago White Sox’s Class A prospects both converged on a liner hit by Greensboro Grasshopper Alex Jones to left-center field. When center fielder Joel Booker saw the ball skip off his glove, it wasn’t the worst thing with the Intimidators leading 5-0 in the fifth inning.

But it then bounced off the chest of the left fielder Jameson Fisher and popped over the wall for a home run that shouldn’t have been.

Luckily for Fisher and Booker, it didn’t cost Kannapolis, which continued to cruise in an 8-1 victory Sunday.

Still, that’s pretty bad luck.

Just a homer from the @GSOHoppers that bounced off *two* outfielders, no big deal: https://t.co/TqdVCkm5mU pic.twitter.com/TT5IgR4Ik0
