Everyone’s a little out of the college football flow entering Week 1 of the season, but some lose their head.
While running out onto the field for the home opener at Autzen Stadium on Saturday, the Oregon Duck’s head came clean off, and the human inside of the famous mascot costume took off running back into the tunnel.

Probably just a little embarrassed. The locker room may physically shut out the outside noise but certainly not on social media.
And there were more than a few spirited reactions from the populous at the expense of the downed mascot.

As for the actual product on the field?
Oregon, ranked No. 7 in the preseason poll, sprinted out to a 31-0 lead over Montana State and held a very sizeable 52-6 edge through three quarters.
College football officially returns to the Valley with No. 11 Arizona State to play Northern Arizona in front of a sellout crowd at 7 p.m. from Mountain America Stadium.

I have despised the OU Ducks since the Chip Kelly days so it's satisfying to see their mascot have his head knocked off. I know, they blew out their competition today but whatever.
