The University of New Mexico football program channeled “The Office” for its latest ticket promotion.

Do you remember the Scott’s Tots episode where Michael Scott promised free tuition to an entire elementary school class?

That’s exactly what New Mexico head coach Jason Eck accidentally did, misunderstanding athletic director Fernando Lovo’s real offer of free tickets for kids 12-years-old and under.

“Who here has ever felt misunderstood?” Eck tries to explain to the elementary school class.

“What does that word mean?” one of the students responds.

In the true spirit of the show, Eck even had a couple of testimonials from Michael Scott’s office.

For those who miss both “The Office” and football season, fear not.

“The Paper” is a spinoff from “The Office” and premiers Sept. 4 on Peacock.

College football season is also around the corner with Arizona State’s first game on Aug. 30 against Northern Arizona University.
