ASU’s Jordyn Tyson hits the salsa for former NFL WR Victor Cruz post-Texas State performance

When you lead your team in receiving yards and are a part of a get-right home win, it’s more than OK to dance a little.

Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson had 105 yards and one of the most athletic touchdowns you might see this season in a 34-15 win over Texas State. And as the TNT postgame player guest, former New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz wanted to see if Tyson could be equally as graceful at executing his famous salsa celebration dance.

“Cue that music. Could you give us some Victor Cruz salsa for us?” TNT Sports host Adam Lefkoe asked.

Tyson simply laughed and slid right into the dance as a traditional salsa beat played through his headphones.

His display was met by an approving Cruz, who had 25 receiving touchdowns for the Giants across his six-year NFL career.

“That’s our first one of the year. I like that song right there,” Cruz said, who in his first year in sports broadcasting apparently is ready for this postgame bit to become a regular occurrence.

Cruz debuted his signature dance nearly 14 years ago against the Philadelphia Eagles after a monster 74-yard touchdown.

Tyson added more emphasis with his right hand, but it’s safe to say he embodied the same spirit.

In three games this season, Tyson has 24 receptions (36 targets), 314 receiving yards (13.1 yards per catch) and four touchdowns.

The Sun Devils (2-1) begin Big 12 play at Baylor on Saturday and Tyson is seeking to continue his explosive tendencies unlike last season post-Texas State. He similarly went off for six catches, 120 yards and a touchdown at the Bobcats in 2024 but had a quiet two grabs and 33 yards (no touchdowns) to open ASU’s inaugural Big 12 season on the road against Texas Tech.
