ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Kroenke Sports and Entertainment says it has reached a deal to purchase the Los Angeles Angels from Arte Moreno.

The company led by Stan Kroenke made the surprising announcement Tuesday, saying it expects to close the transaction in early 2027.

“The Angels are a storied franchise anchored in a great market. We look forward to an exciting future with the Angels organization,” Stan Kroenke, owner and chairman of KSE, said in a statement.

Kroenke’s company owns the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams, Arsenal of the English Premier League, the NBA’s Denver Nuggets, the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche and Major League Soccer’s Colorado Rapids.

The company has now added the Angels, whose turbulent 20-year tenure under Moreno’s ownership will finally come to an end.

“The Angels Organization is pleased to announce this transaction with Kroenke Sports & Entertainment,” Arte Moreno said. “The Moreno Family has been honored to steward the Angels for 23 years and we believe with KSE’s experience and success they are the best next owner for the franchise. The Angels Organization looks forward to continuing its commitment to the fans, our employees, the players and our business partners.”

Hopefully the new owners can turn this club around and start investing in the scouting department. Clean house and start fresh.
