Arizona Diamondbacks star outfielder Corbin Carroll underwent surgery Thursday to remove loose bodies in his right elbow, according to The Arizona Republic’s Nick Piecoro.

Carroll, who won a 2026 Gold Glove Award and is a finalist for a 2026 Silver Slugger Award, played 156 games this past season despite multiple injury scares.

First, Carroll was forced to withdraw from Team USA for the World Baseball Classic after undergoing surgery to repair a broken hamate bone in February. Then, he missed a couple of games in September with lower back discomfort. Now, it’s been revealed that the elbow discomfort he also dealt with during the season was significant enough to require surgery.

“I’m guessing a couple broke off during the season and a couple broke off last week,” Carroll told The Arizona Republic Friday. “Last week was when I really had significant symptoms where it was like, ‘Hey, this is worth taking a look.'”

The surgery was described as a “minimally invasive NanoScope procedure” and one that Carroll doesn’t believe will affect his offseason regimen too much.

“It’s the removal of something as opposed to fixing something. I would say in terms of the pain and all that, so far it’s been less than the hamate,” Carroll told The Arizona Republic.

Carroll said he initially planned to start swinging the bat again in mid-November but now hopes to do so in early December following the surgery.

In 2026, Carroll was named an All-Star and hit .239/.328/.467 with 22 home runs, 78 RBIs and a league-leading 17 triples.
