Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is expected to be back in the starting lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Athletics, according to Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro.
Carroll was out of the lineup for Monday’s 5-2 loss to the A’s due to a hyperextended right elbow suffered on a missed swing in the previous game.
He was, however, available off the bench if needed.
The outfielder, whom manager Torey Lovullo considered day-to-day, told reporters on Monday that he wasn’t concerned with the issue.
The 2026 All-Star added he had hyperextended his elbow a couple of times before the MLB All-Star break, but “they didn’t linger.”
Carroll is slashing .250/.344/.480 with an .824 OPS in 96 games this year. He leads MLB in triples with 10 and has 47 RBIs, 10 stolen bases and 48 walks against 98 strikeouts.
First pitch for Diamondbacks-Athletics is slated for 6:40 p.m. MST and can be heard on Arizona Sports 98.7.

WHY?? he's hitting .190 the last 30 days. Keep him on the bench as he's not helping this team and just swings at every pitch no matter where it is!! Time to just bench him till he figures it out...
My point is that Carroll doesn't need to hit .600 (that is 3 hits every 5 at bats) over the course of 12 games to have an impact - that is an insane expectation. He has multiple skills to help the team to win. I think that he needs to hit much higher than .250 as well. He is too good to settle for that low of an average.
His speed on the bases is invaluable but he needs to get on base which is extremely hard when he is 9 hits in 74 ABs since June.
What hitting? Again, he has only 9 hits in 74 ABs since June.
The big three had no impact in the swept of the Dodgers offensively.
I look at facts...the big three hasn't produced this season compared to previous seasons. It has been the #4 to #9 hitters that have been winning games.
Before the trade deadline, the Dbacks need to win at least 10 of their 12 remaining games before the trade deadline.
Corbin's BA has dropped...he needs to hit above average to bring it up. Corbin batting 1-5 isn't going to help the Dbacks to get into the playoffs. It is now the time for the stars to start producing.
