Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is not in the starting lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Athletics.

Carroll told reporters pregame he is still available off the bench if need be.

“I’m available. If there’s a situation late in the game, I’m sure I’ll be in there,” he said. “If that situation doesn’t arise, just give it a day.”

Carroll left Sunday’s win over the St. Louis Cardinals with a hyperextended right elbow. He went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts and a double before exiting. Manager Torey Lovullo considered him day-to-day with the injury. Carroll did not have to undergo any imaging on the injury, the skipper said.

The outfielder told reporters he had hyperextended his elbow “a couple swings before the (MLB All-Star break), but they didn’t linger.”

Carroll added he should be in “a good spot” either Monday or Tuesday and that he wasn’t concerned with the issue.

The 2026 All-Star is slashing .250/.344/.480 with a .824 OPS this season. He’s currently pacing MLB in triples with 10 to go along with 47 RBIs, 10 stolen bases and 48 walks to 98 strikeouts in 96 games played.

Diamondbacks recall Juan Burgos

The D-backs recalled pitcher Juan Burgos from the Triple-A Reno Aces on Monday.

Burgos has appeared in one game for the D-backs this year. He allowed two hits and an earned run in 1.1 innings pitched.

There isn't anyone better than Barrosa in the minors? It's disturbing if they don't.

I’m not even talking about just this year. He’s fine through prolonged slumps in every single season as a pro. Even in his rookie season, which was his best, his second half was not good. Then the next season there was talk about sending him down to the minors until he picked it up a bit in the second half, then last year was a lot like this year, started off strong and then disappeared in the second half. And I know he’s dealing with an injury right now, but he hasn’t been good since early June. I love the guy, but I’m disappointed that he’s so inconsistent. And when he goes into a slump, he goes into a SLUMP

Can't Pavin Smith plays the outfield? He can hit...NOT!

Can Tawa play the outfield like he did last week.

This is why I have posted several times that the Dbacks need a good bench and farm system for depth when starters are injured.

This is one reason why Hazen should be fired.
