Corbin Carroll was locked in at the plate Sunday, as he crushed his second home run of the day in the sixth inning of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ 8-6 win against the Colorado Rockies to clinch the series.

With the Diamondbacks up 3-0 in the fourth inning, Carroll hit a 94-mph fastball off Rockies righty Michael Lorenzen into the Colorado bullpen for his sixth homer of the season to make it 5-0.

In his next at-bat, Carroll crushed a cutter off Rockies reliever Blas Castano that went nearly 450 feet to extend the Diamondbacks’ lead to 8-2. His second homer of the day marked Carroll’s ninth career multi-homer game. His last multi-homer game came June 3 last season against the Atlanta Braves.

Carroll’s offensive outburst was a welcome sight for the Diamondbacks, as Arizona left 10 runners on base and went 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position in a 4-2 loss to the Rockies on Saturday.

In addition to Carroll’s home runs, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit his first dinger of the season in the fifth inning in the win.
