Diamondbacks lefty Eduardo Rodriguez tosses 1-2-3 inning in MLB All-Star Game
Having a successful 2026 campaign, Eduardo Rodriguez delivered a strong outing in his first career MLB All-Star Game.

Arizona Diamondbacks lefty Eduardo Rodriguez shined during his appearance in the second inning of the 2026 All-Star Game on Tuesday.
With the National League trailing the American League 3-0, Rodriguez retired Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Ernie Clement, Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout and Houston Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez in order on eight pitches.

Rodriguez, who was making his first career appearance in the All-Star Game, continued his successful 2026 campaign that has seen the 33-year-old post an 8-3 record with a 2.29 ERA and 79 strikeouts.
In his most recent start, Rodriguez tossed six strong innings and surrendered just two runs in a 9-3 D-backs win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday.
Before the regular season, Rodriguez was a member of Team Venezuela in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, where he tossed 4.1 scoreless innings in the championship game against Team USA in a 3-2 win for the country’s first WBC title.
The American League defeated the National League 4-0 in the 96th Midsummer Classic. New York Yankees outfielder and Arizona-born Cody Bellinger, who drove in two runs in the first inning, was named MVP.

Nice work for sure. I enjoyed watching Eduardo pitch but I really would have liked it better if the FOX coverage team had actually not done so much dugout interviews during the game. Rodriguez pitched his entire inning and I don't think they mentioned his name once. I guess I'm too old and old fashioned but these days sportscasters seem to be more about themselves and making some splash rather than just being good play by play with occasional color commentary when appropriate. Don't get me started on their insistence in doing their stupid 20 second interviews with coaches and players during football and basketball at halftimes.
During E-Rods inning the broadcast team didn't even mention his name, they had a planned dugout interview with Verlander and some Yankee pitcher.
