PHOENIX — Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo exited Monday’s game against the Colorado Rockies after the fourth inning.

The Diamondbacks announced that Perdomo was dealing with left knee soreness.

Ildemaro Vargas replaced Perdomo at shortstop with the D-backs ahead 7-0. Perdomo was 0-for-2 with a walk at that point and had made a highlight leaping throw to record an out at second base.

Perdomo was not in the dugout during the fifth inning.

The last time Perdomo missed a game was on July 8, and he had played every inning since then. He has played more innings at shortstop (1,014) than anyone else in Major League Baseball this season.

At the plate, Perdomo had been heating up with an .827 OPS since the All-Star break and .952 OPS over his previous 14 games, entering Monday.

More details to come postgame.
