Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte on Wednesday was named a National League starter for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game.

Marte paced all NL players in Phase 2 voting.

This marks the third All-Star nod of his career.

Across 59 games played this year, the second baseman is slashing .296/.400/.583 with a .983 OPS. He’s registered 17 home runs, 37 RBIs and 34 walks to 40 strikeouts.

He’s the only D-back who advanced to Phase 2 of All-Star voting this year.

Joining Marte in the NL infield are catcher Will Smith (Los Angeles Dodgers), first baseman Freddie Freeman (Los Angeles Dodgers), shortstop Francisco Lindor (New York Mets) and third baseman Manny Machado (San Diego Padres).

Cardinals lend a hand in Ketel Marte’s All-Star voting

On top of D-backs fans voting for their second baseman, Arizona Cardinals Budda Baker and Trey McBride helped spread the word this past week.

The D-backs also went on the campaign trail, stopping by Chik-fil-A to get the word out.

When is the 2025 MLB All-Star Game?

The All-Star Game is slated for July 15 at Atlanta’s Truist Park.

Good for Ketel Four - obviously deserved.
As an aside, I've wondered if he could parlay his name and number into a Dominican based rum brand ("Ketel Four")? We've visited the DR and had some VERY good rum there - just a suggestion Mr. Marte.
