The Arizona Diamondbacks reinstated reliever Kevin Ginkel from the 15-day injured list ahead of Tuesday’s game against the New York Mets, the team announced.

Ginkel has yet to pitch this season due to right shoulder inflammation picked up during spring training.

The move comes after Arizona optioned right-handed reliever Drey Jameson to Triple-A Reno following Sunday’s game.

Ginkel is in his seventh season in the majors, all with the D-backs.

He had a 3.21 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 2024 over a career-high 72 appearances last year for Arizona.

Ginkel saw six innings of work in spring training before the injury, giving up one run on two hits (1.50 ERA).

The reliever joins a bullpen that has a 4.64 ERA (eighth worst in the majors) and has blown five of 13 save opportunities.

Jameson made three appearances since coming back up for the first time in nearly 700 days after returning from a lengthy Tommy John rehab.

He gave up one run in 3.0 innings of work (three games) with four hits and three walks allowed.

The D-backs begin a three-game series on Tuesday against the Mets, who became the first team to 20 wins on Monday.
