NBCUniversal purchased a Major League Baseball media rights package this offseason, and the Arizona Diamondbacks will play five games on its platforms throughout the 2026 season.

NBC Sports released its 2026 schedule on Friday, which includes Arizona’s Opening Day matchup with the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium on March 26. That game will air on NBC and Peacock and is part of an Opening Day doubleheader that starts with the Pittsburgh Pirates playing the New York Mets.

Arizona has four games that will stream exclusively on Peacock, all of which will be played at Chase Field:

  • June 7: Washington Nationals at Diamondbacks
  • June 21: Minnesota Twins at Diamondbacks
  • July 5: Milwaukee Brewers at Diamondbacks
  • Aug. 23: Cincinnati Reds at Diamondbacks

The Nationals and Twins have turned pages this offseason with new managers: Blake Butera (Washington) and Derek Shelton (Minnesota). The Brewers and Reds are coming off postseason appearances, with Milwaukee reaching the NLCS before losing to the Dodgers.

NBC is taking over Sunday Night Baseball this upcoming season from ESPN. On Peacock, NBC will stream MLB Sunday Leadoff games, a Sunday whip-around show and an out-of-market game each day.

Nationally-shown MLB games will be found by NBC, ESPN, FOX, Apple, Turner and Netflix this upcoming season after a series of media rights deals came together this offseason.

For the recent College Football Playoffs, it stated that the games were on ABC...when it was only on ESPN which is owned by ABC but there is different between a free channel like ABC and a paid channel like ESPN. My question is the game actually on NBC or is it only on Peacock...another platform you have to subscribe to watch sports that was once free to watch.

Is Dbacks TV still will be available for the 2026 season?

Like a frog slowly being boiled to death the TV greed is reaching new proportions.

We need a Ralph Nader type to fight them.

But with 162 games in a season Peacock you can kma.
