Arizona Diamondbacks stars Corbin Carroll and Gabriel Moreno were named finalists for their position’s Silver Slugger Award on Thursday.

Moreno’s competitor for the hitting award is Hunter Goodman (Colorado Rockies) in a contest of National League West catchers.

Carroll is one of seven finalists for three outfield spots. The other six are:

  • Jackson Chourio (Milwaukee Brewers)
  • Pete Crow-Armstrong (Chicago Cubs)
  • Seiya Suzuki (Chicago Cubs)
  • Fernando Tatis Jr. (San Diego Padres)
  • Jordan Walker (St. Louis Cardinals)
  • James Wood (Washington Nationals)

Moreno had 20 more hits and 13 more doubles than Goodman in 45 fewer at-bats (eight fewer games), but Goodman had more than double the home runs (41) of Moreno (16).

Goodman has the edge in slugging (.529 to .486) but Moreno clears in batting average (.311 to .245), on-base percentage (.388 to .310) and OPS (.874 to .839).

Carroll’s most notable stat advantage is one he’s had over all major leaguers for three seasons now: triples. The Arizona right fielder just finished his second straight season with 17 triples to match his career mark.

However, it was a down year just about everywhere else for Carroll, as he tied his lowest mark for home runs in a full season (22).

When comparing his season with the other six finalists, Carroll ranks last in batting average (.239, no one else below .265), sixth in on-base percentage (.328, last is .327) and sixth in OPS (.795, last is .793).

Winners will be announced on Nov. 17.

Diamondbacks’ recent history of Silver Slugger Award winners

Carroll was one of three NL outfielders to win the award last year, the first win of his career. Ketel Marte and Geraldo Perdomo each won the award at their respective infield spots as Arizona’s other 2025 winners.

Before Marte won in 2024, the Diamondbacks hadn’t had a Silver Slugger winner since Zack Greinke won among pitchers in 2019.
