Maybe ESPN shouldn’t have flexed this game out of the national TV lineup.

Devin Booker dropped a season-high 47 along with 11 assists, and Grayson Allen hit a number of clutch 3s after colliding with John Collins late in the fourth quarter to force overtime against the Utah Jazz Friday night at Footprint Center. The Suns went on to win, 135-127.

All of this came on the same night that Booker was honored for becoming the franchise’s all-time leading scorer.

Allen hit a 3 while falling away on the right wing off a sideline-out-of-bounds play with 0.9 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime. The Suns had previously led 111-98 around the six minute mark of the fourth quarter before the Jazz stormed back with a 22-5 run capped off by a highly contested jumper by guard Isaiah Collier that appeared to be the dagger.

The Suns kept things rolling into overtime where they raced past the Jazz with an 8-0 run which was ignited by an Allen 3 — who finished with 21 points on seven made 3s.

Booker was serenaded with “MVP” chants as he sealed the game at the free-throw line.

Booker played a season-high 49 minutes with Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal out with injuries.

This is definitely how we play with KD!! Same energy, effort and desire.. But also definitely not like this with Beal on the floor!!

Just 7 Turnovers YALL!! And don’t look now, but we had a Bol Bol sighting.. 12 pts on 5-8 shooting, including 2-5 from deep and 3blks.. More importantly he posted a 3rd best +10, in 24 mins..

Coach get him more time!

Great game Suns!!

Thrilling win. They snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, after nearly snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Suns were up 13 with six minutes left against one of the worst teams in the league, and immediately gave up a 13-0 run that was sparked by awful defense and rebounding. I’m glad they pulled out the miracle W, but they shouldn’t have been in that position to begin with.

I’m at a loss as to why Plumlee was in the closing lineup. I might be wrong, but I don’t think Richards played at all the last 6+ minutes of the game or any of overtime. He held his own in the paint tonight MUCH better than Plumlee. I wonder what Bud sees that makes him think Plumlee is the better option when defense and rebounding are badly needed.

Kudos to Coach B for giving Bol Bol some solid minutes. The dude is an offensive spark plug, even though he almost always looks lost on both ends of the floor. If he can get it together and turn himself into at least a serviceable defender, he has a chance to crack a rotation somewhere and get paid. He has some serious raw offensive talent. If (okay, when) the Suns season goes to pot, I hope to see him get some quality minutes.
