Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker now stands alone as the franchise’s all-time leading scorer.
Booker entered Monday needing 23 points to take the record from six-time All-Star and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Walter Davis, whose career total of 15,666 points from 1977-88 stood for 37 years.
It took Booker less than three quarters to get there against the Portland Trail Blazers.

He dropped 12 points in the opening quarter on 5-for-6 shooting to get more than halfway there and finished the first half with 17 points. With an open triple in the third period, Booker set the franchise record.
Booker finished the game with 34 points, but the Suns lost to Portland 121-119.
Booker, 28, is a four-time All-Star, two-time Olympic gold medalist and was named to the All-NBA First Team in 2022. Booker has averaged north of 20 points per game in each year of his career except his rookie season in 2015-16, and he has tallied at least 1,000 points in each year of his 10-year NBA tenure.
Booker, drafted 13th overall out of Kentucky by the Suns in the 2015 draft, averaged 13.8 points per game in rookie season as a 19-year-old. He increased his per-game scoring average nearly 10 points to 22.1 during his sophomore campaign, which saw his famous 70-point burst against the Boston Celtics.
He went on to increase his scoring averages to 24.9 and 26.6 the next couple seasons, eventually earning his first All-Star nod in 2019-20 as a 23-year-old in his fifth season in the league. That season stands as his highest total scoring season at 1,863 points.
Booker’s best individual season arguably came two years later, the season after the Suns lost to the Milwaukee Bucks 4-2 in the NBA Finals. Booker averaged a then career-best 26.8 points per contest on a career-high 38.3% from distance and 50.8% from the field. Booker ended the season fourth in MVP voting and earned his All-NBA First Team accolade.
The Suns finished the 2021-22 season 64-18 but fell to the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference semifinals 4-3.
Booker’s highest scoring per game season of his career came in 2022-23 when he averaged 27.8, but he played just 53 out of 82 games.
For the playoffs, Booker has averaged 28.0 points per game over 47 career contests. Booker’s 33.7 points per game in the 2022-23 run stands as his highest.
Congrats @DevinBook for becoming the all-time leading scorer for the @Suns! So proud of all your success on and off the court in PHX and excited to see you continue to do amazing things here for years to come. pic.twitter.com/7Hv7FxntSv

Devin Booker in the record book
Booker has his name all over the Suns’ record books.
He is also No. 1 in franchise history in 3-pointers made and attempted, as well as third in free throws made and free-throw percentage.
Booker ranks in the Suns’ top five in assists, field goals made and attempted, as well as free-throw attempts.
He ranks third in franchise history in postseason scoring at 1,315 behind Steve Nash (1,365) and Kevin Johnson (2,026). Booker’s 28.0 per game postseason scoring average over his 47 appearances ranks second in team history, closely behind Kevin Durant (28.4 in 15 games).
Booker’s 70-point game in 2017 is the highest-scoring single-game night in franchise history, and he holds seven of the Suns’ top 10 individual scoring performances (Tom Chambers and Tony Delk are the only others in the top 10).
