Suns’ Jordan Goodwin ruled out from playoff game vs. Thunder with calf soreness

Jordan Goodwin exited with left calf soreness and did not return during the Suns’ 119-84 loss in Game 1 of Phoenix’s first-round playoff matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday.

Goodwin exited the game with 6:54 remaining in the second quarter and went to the locker room before being ruled out at the half. He scored two points in five minutes played, dealing with early foul trouble matched up against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Entering Sunday’s game, Goodwin was coming off a strong performance in Friday’s play-in game against the Golden State Warriors, scoring 19 points on 7-for-11 shooting, grabbing nine rebounds with six steals and two assists in the Suns’ 111-96 win.

Goodwin’s injury came as the Suns were still without center Mark Williams, who was ruled out with left foot soreness. Grayson Allen, who was available Sunday after being questionable with a left hamstring strain, did not play.
