The Phoenix Suns ruled center Mark Williams (left foot soreness) out of Sunday’s playoff series opener at the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Grayson Allen (left hamstring strain) was questionable for Sunday and is available after testing it out in warm-ups.
Williams previously played 22 minutes in Phoenix’s first play-in game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday before missing Friday’s second play-in game against the Golden State Warriors entirely.
He had a questionable designation for both play-in games as well as Sunday’s Game 1 before being ruled out.
Williams has started 55 of his 60 games played this season, averaging 11.7 points, eight rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 23.6 minutes per game. He missed a stretch of 15 straight games in March with a stress reaction on that same left foot, appearing in four of the final six regular-season games.
Allen has played just 12.5 minutes since April 7, appearing in one contest on April 10 in which he suffered the hamstring injury. He was available in case of emergency Friday but did not enter the game.
Catch Game 1 at 12:30 p.m. MST on 98.7, the Arizona Sports app and online.

Left foot soreness. No heart.
Um, no it isn't. Injured and sick are not the same thing... And again I can't stress this enough, comparing the average job to professional athlere is beyond dumb. If they are t 100% the performance suffers and the team suffers. Also the risk of further injury which could result in time missed the following season.
Edit: Also you can call in sick at full time jobs. That's what sick time and PTO are for.
I was talking about Jordan Goodwin but honestly what I said about Mark Williams is the same. The Suns have no shot in this series and are likely going to try and trade Mark Williams.
Whats the point of asking guys to play when they are not 100%? What is the goal?
