Phoenix Suns forward Miles Bridges and the mother of his four children have filed dueling complaints accusing each other of assault amid an escalating custody dispute, according to court documents.
The flurry of court wrangling and the latest legal trouble for Bridges is playing out in North Carolina, where both live.
The documents state that during a June 22 custody exchange in North Carolina, Johnson threw water on Bridges in front of his children and threatened to do it again if they continued to argue.
She is being accused of assault and battery and is facing a misdemeanor charge.
Johnson later filed her own complaints against Bridges, stating he filed charges against her in an effort to take away her custody and that Bridges attempted to run her over in a golf cart during the custody exchange.
Bridges, who was acquired by the Suns this offseason by Phoenix in a trade that has yet to be completed, sat out the 2022-23 season following accusations of domestic abuse.
He was arrested in June 2022 on the eve of NBA free agency on charges including felony child abuse and injuring a child’s parent.
The league forced him to sit out while his legal case was pending. He ultimately pleaded no contest to a felony domestic violence charge in November 2022.
Bridges was suspended for 30 games in April 2023 by the league but received a 20-game credit because he missed the entire 2022-23 season.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Here we go Haven’teven set foot on Arizona soil yet, but this is what’s gonna come with him when he does. news organizations will love this for the ratings. Scottsdale POLICE will be introduced to Mr. Bridges soon. I’m sure. welcome to the neighborhood. I feel sorry for these four children.
Hmmm . . . I've got a feeling this trade may not happen. I feel for the four kids . . . Adults need to get their (bleep) together, and the Suns need to pass.
