The Arizona State Sun Devils have added another player to their 2025 recruiting class with the addition of center Mor Massamba Diop, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

Diop, from Senegal, recently averaged 16.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game while playing professionally in Spain. Diop brings some size to a 2025-26 Sun Devils roster that was lacking it prior to his addition.

Arizona State recently added guard Anthony Johnson. Johnson joined former Idaho State guard Jake O’Neil as the latest additions to the team, after O’Neil’s commitment in May came with an asterisk, as he needs a waiver for eligibility.

Roster outlook for ASU men’s basketball

Arizona State has pieced together a roster largely built of transfers after losing nearly its entire team due in part to last year’s disappointing results.

The team has also lost some of the previously committed freshmen in the 2025 class, including 7-foot-1 Leo Curtis (West Virginia) and 6-foot-7 Jaion Pitt (Pacific).

Here’s a look at who’s expected in Tempe for 2025-26 at this point:

  • 6-foot-2 Trevor Best (lone 2024-25 holdover)
  • 6-foot-1 Moe Odum (Pepperdine transfer)
  • 6-foot-3 Bryce Ford (Toledo transfer)
  • 6-foot-2 Anthony Johnson (NAIA Cumberlands transfer)
  • 6-foot Adante’ Holiman (Georgia Southern transfer)
  • 6-foot-4 Jake O’Neil (Idaho State transfer)

Forwards:

  • 6-foot-9 Andrija Grbovic (Montenegrin international transfer)
  • 6-foot-8 Marcus Adams Jr. (Cal State Northridge transfer)
  • 6-foot-6 Allen Mukeba (Oakland transfer)
  • 6-foot-6 Vijay Wallace (JUCO Triton College transfer)
  • 6-foot-7 Kash Polk (freshman)
  • 6-foot-10 Santiago Trouet (San Diego transfer)

So you're saying that there is a chance.

10? You might lose 10 non-conference games. 13-20 last year, You have a better shot at 3-30 than 8-25. 0-18 in conference. Look at the roster. Not a single guy from a Power 4 conference. You have guys who were average at mid-majors at best. This is a Summit League team. I am embarrassed for y'all. But that's what happens when you keep a dead duck coach whose entire team, except for the guy who only played half a season, quits. Rossini is going to pay not firing Play-in Bobby for 3 years. No one wants to go coach a no talent team that plays in a barn mostly like Chris-Town Mall. To ramp a team up to be competitive in one of the two top basketball conferences in the country from scratch is a huge lift. Another year of sucking ain't gonna make it any easier. Save the 5 million buyout this year, lose 6 million in tickets each year for the next 3. Let alone raise 75 million to retrofit the barn.

Is this even a 10 win team? This from a suffering, life long Sun Devil Basketball fan.
