Chase Bennett, Tautvilas Tubelis headline new ASU men’s basketball coaching hires

The Arizona State men’s basketball team announced four more additions to head coach Randy Bennett’s coaching staff on Thursday, including his son Chase Bennett and former Arizona player Tautvilas Tubelis.

Chase will serve as the director of operations, while Tubelis will serve as a graduate assistant. Joe Few (graduate assistant) and Parker Zidel (recruiting assistant) round out ASU’s new coaching hires.

The hires come as Randy Bennett’s coaching staff continues to take shape ahead of his first season as the Sun Devils’ head coach. The new additions join assistant coaches Rick Croy, David Patrick, Joe Rahon, E.J. Rowland and executive director of strategic initiatives and player personnel Drew Seidenberger on Bennett’s staff.

Before he arrived at ASU, Chase spent four seasons at Linfield University, playing 93 games with 60 starts. During the offseasons, Chase served as a basketball camp commissioner and coach at three Saint Mary’s men’s basketball summer camps from 2021 to 2025.

Tubelis played 24 games in three seasons with the Wildcats from 2020 to 2023. He was a teammate of his twin brother, fellow former Wildcat Ąžuolas Tubelis.

Tautvilas Tubelis spent the previous two seasons under Bennett as a graduate assistant at Saint Mary’s. He also played a role in securing the commitment of Paulius Murauskas to ASU this offseason.

“The opportunity to follow Coach Bennett to Arizona State and to work with an amazing staff was too good to pass up,” Tubelis said in a news release. “I am looking forward to continuing to learn from the coaches and help the program in any way I can.”

Few joins ASU after playing 42 games across four seasons (2021-25) as a guard at Gonzaga under his father, head coach Mark Few.

This season will mark the first in which Zidel will serve as a recruiting assistant and his fourth overall with the program. He previously served as a graduate assistant under then-coach Bobby Hurley last season. Zidel joined ASU in 2023 as a student manager and worked his way up to head student manager and student video coordinator before the 2024-25 season.
