Arizona State announced Thursday morning the dates for this year’s Camp Tontozona.

Camp T in Payson, Ariz., will run from Aug 6-9, according to an ASU press release.

A tradition that started back in 1959, and recently picked back up under head coach Kenny Dillingham after a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19 and weather, the Sun Devils return to the high country after an unforgettable 2024 season.

Last season, Dillingham called it a fantastic tradition that the team gets to embrace while also giving his players and coaching staff a break from the Valley heat.

The Maroon and Gold scrimmage, the main event of the camp, is slated for Aug. 9 and opens to the public at 9 a.m.

No further details have been announced as to what the week will look like.

The Sun Devils kick off their season three weeks later in Tempe against Northern Arizona.

The new era of crunchies in Flagstaff don't like 'violent' sports like Football.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy that ASU is keeping this tradition going..

Though I really wish it was their full camp, like it used to be.. Camp T during the Kush era was really was compared to a short “boot” camps..

Yes they were brutal and exhausting 3 a days,..Though this is truly how teams are forged and bonded! This approach is mimicked all throughout HS for a reason! Because it’s proven effective.. Would absolutely love to see our beloved sport of Football return to these roots..

LOL- My HS Football camp was crazy hard.. And I really couldn’t believe, how when I played College Ball, it was an easier camp instead of a harder one.. Yes the hits and players were definitely bigger and stronger.. But the Camp regiment itself was easier..

I guarantee if College and Pro teams return to this 3 a day approach, the soft tissue injuries will dramatically decrease!

Cmon AZ Football- let’s rewind and start new stuff..
Wildcats would be wise to hold their camps in another area too- like in the White Mountains, or say Prescott..

And I think I speak for so Many, in how the Cards NEED to get back to NAU!! Our 2008 Run to the SB began in Flagstaff!
