For the second week running, Arizona State kicker Jesus Gomez won Big 12 Co-Special Teams Player of the Week. Joining him on the weekly list of honors, ASU defensive lineman Prince Dorbah took home the award for Defensive Player of the Week.

Despite a 2-for-4 performance at home against then-No. 24 TCU, Gomez made the field goal that mattered, with a 23-yarder giving the Sun Devils their first lead of the game at 27-24 with 1:14 remaining in the fourth quarter. His longest make was 26 yards out.

It wasn’t anything close to the sharpness he demonstrated against Baylor (a career-best 4-for-4), but Gomez’s leg did enough to seal a second straight three-point win.

Dorbah played the role of set-up man for Gomez with a strip-sack of TCU quarterback Josh Hoover with the game tied at 24 apiece with 1:50 left on the clock.

The senior from Dallas, Texas, racked up all of his season’s three sacks against the Horned Frogs and had four tackles, all of which were for a loss.

Dorbah became the first Big 12 defensive player since Kansas State’s Felix Anudike-Uzomah in 2021 to record four such tackles in a conference game.

The entire ASU defensive line earned the conference’s award for the positional group. It was responsible for six sacks and 13 tackles for loss, limiting TCU to 269 yards of total offense while forcing three turnovers (two interceptions and one forced fumble).

Cincinnati kicker Stephen Rusnak joined Gomez as special teamer of the week, going 3-for-3 on field goals and 4-for-4 on extra points in a 37-34 win against Kansas. He has not missed a kick in six tries so far in 2025 and has a 17-for-17 streak since the beginning of last season.

Houston linebacker Sione Fotu was co-defensive player with Dorbah after a career-high 15 tackles (seven solos) in a 27-24 overtime win over Oregon State.

Awesome. ASU has done well with these Big 12 weekly awards since coming aboard the Big-12 last year.

Great job: Jesus 'Money' Gomez!

I love attention for our guys, but the other kicker deserves the award to himself this week! 3 for 3 to land at 17 in a row beats 2 for 4 every day of the week!
