Arizona star freshman Koa Peat will reportedly make his return from injury against No. 14 Kansas on Saturday, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
The Chandler native missed three games for a lower leg muscle strain he picked up in a loss to Texas Tech on Feb. 14.
He has averaged 13.8 points (on 54.2% shooting), 5.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 25 games played.
Thamel also reported that the No. 2 Wildcats will also be reinforced with freshman Dwayne Aristode, who was absent from four games due to an illness.
Aristode has logged 24 game appearances and averaged 4.7 points, two rebounds, 0.8 assists and 15.5 minutes of on-court action.
Both players were fixtures of Arizona’s first matchup this season against Kansas, which it lost 82-78 at Allen Fieldhouse. Peat had six points (2 for 11), five rebounds, three assists and two blocks in 31 minutes and Aristode scored five points (2 for 3) and added a rebound in eight minutes off the bench.
Arizona has won three in a row against BYU, then-No. 2 Houston and Baylor while Kansas has gone 2-2 in its last four games, most recently defeating No. 5 Houston at home on Monday.
Saturday’s game between Arizona (26-2, 13-2 Big 12) and Kansas (21-7, 11-4) at McKale Center will tip at 2 p.m. and can be watched on ESPN.
