Has the Giannis trade changed Brayden Burries’ or Koa Peat’s draft spots in NBA mocks?

Two things over the past two days could have a domino effect on the NBA Draft, especially within the range of where Arizona Wildcats product Brayden Burries could be selected: in the heart of the lottery.

The Dallas Mavericks, who own the No. 9 pick, have agreed to hire Michigan head coach Dusty May to make the leap from college.

Quite notably, the Wolverines have three players projected to go in the first round. All three of center Aday Mara and forwards Yaxel Lendenborg and Morez Johnson Jr. are potential picks in the back-half of the lottery.

Of course, Burries’ freshman year ended at the hands of the Wolverines with a 25% shooting performance and 13 points with four fouls in a blowout loss for the Wildcats.

The other thing: The Miami Heat won the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes. Milwaukee already had the No. 10 pick and now owns No. 13 as well (the Heat will make the latter pick for the Bucks, as the Antetokounmpo trade will not yet be official).

It’s worth mentioning that Boston has its first-round pick at No. 27 and has a clearer path after pursuing Antetokounmpo with a trade package of its own. Standing relatively pat, they are in the back range for Burries’ teammate, Koa Peat. He is expected to go toward the end of the first round as his stock has slid through the draft workout process.
