Jones was recruited by Arizona offensive coordinator Seth Doege, who will be scheming around Noah Fifita for the final time this upcoming season.

The last time the Wildcats brought in a quarterback-receiver tandem from the same high school was in 2022 with Fifita and Tetairoa McMillan at Servite in Anaheim, California.

He made official visits to Washington and Baylor before checking out Tucson on June 19. He was offered by Baylor, TCU, Kentucky and Wisconsin, among others.
