Tetairoa McMillan declares for the 2025 NFL Draft

Arizona Wildcats all-time leading receiver Tetairoa McMillan is off to the NFL, officially.

The three-year star announced on Instagram that he is headed to the draft, where he will be widely regarded as a top-10 pick.

“Wildcat Nation, this journey has been everything I dreamed of and more,” McMillan wrote. “From the moment I committed to the University of Arizona, to every second spent wearing that Arizona jersey… it’s been an absolute honor.

“The University of Arizona has provided me with the platform to grow and chase my dreams. It has shaped me not just as a player, but as a person. I’ll be forever grateful for the loyalty, the opportunities, and everything this University has given me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Tetairoa McMillan’s path to the 2025 NFL Draft

McMillan landed at Arizona by following a group of Servite High School (Anaheim, Calif.) prospects to Tucson in the 2022 recruiting class. Three-star quarterback Noah Fifita, four-star tight end Keyan Burnett and three-star linebacker Jacob Manu joined him.

But it took a late flip to join the Wildcats after McMillan decommitted from the Oregon Ducks in December 2021.

McMillan produced immediately as Arizona turned around a 1-11 campaign in 2021 for a 5-7 finish during the receiver’s freshman season.

The wideout led the team in receiving just three times playing alongside current NFL rookie Jacob Cowing and Utah Ute Dorian Singer. Yet he still piled up 702 yards on 39 catches (18 yards per reception) and eight touchdowns.

McMillan blew up during the Wildcats’ 10-3 season last year after Fifita took over for quarterback Jayden de Laura in the middle of the season. McMillan finished with 1,402 receiving yards and 10 scores.

The yardage was good enough for fifth in the nation, and McMillan would have been in the Biletnikoff Award conversation had three first-round NFL picks (winner Marvin Harrison Jr., plus Malik Nabers and Rome Odunze) not made the finalist list.

A 1,319-yard season and eight more scores in 2024 came for McMillan as Arizona stumbled this year. He finishes as the school’s all-time receiving leader with 3,423 yards after surpassing Bobby Wade (3,351), Mike Thomas (3,231), Dennis Northcutt (3,186) and Juron Criner (2,859).

McMillan is a finalist for the Biletnikoff honor given to the nation’s best pass-catcher. The winner will be announced at 6 p.m. Thursday.
