Koa Peat to be reevaluated next week for lower leg muscle strain, Dwayne Aristode out vs. BYU

Arizona freshman Koa Peat will be reevaluated next week for a lower leg muscle strain he sustained in Saturday’s loss to Texas Tech, the team announced Tuesday.

Additionally, fellow freshman Dwayne Aristode was ruled out for Wednesday’s home game against No. 23 BYU (19-6, 7-5 Big 12) due to an illness.

Peat did not play in the second half against the No. 13 Red Raiders after not attempting a single shot in 11 minutes on the court. He had two points on 2-of-4 shooting at the foul line and added a rebound and an assist.

The star forward from Chandler will return to action once cleared by the team’s medical staff, the announcement said.

He has not missed any significant time this season, having appeared in all of the Wildcats’ 25 games and averaging 27 minutes in those contests.

Aristode has played in 24 games and averaged 4.7 points (48.1% shooting), two rebounds and 0.8 assists.

Arizona (23-2, 10-2 Big 12) will now face BYU and Big 12-leading No. 2 Houston (23-3, 11-2 Big 12) on the road without Peat, who has the team’s second-most points (13.4) and third-most rebounds per game (5.4).
