After Bryce James, son of LeBron James, committed to play for the Arizona Wildcats basketball program on Wednesday, the elder James posted a photo of his son in an Arizona Wildcats jersey on Friday.
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar captioned the Instagram post, “Official threads,” to go along with Arizona’s “Bear Down” mantra.

Jason Scheer of WildcatAuthority.com reported the James family visited Arizona for the Wildcats’ home game against Duke in November and was impressed with Tommy Lloyd and the program after visiting most of the other former Pac-12 schools.
The NBA forward later was asked about his son’s commitment after the Lakers beat the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday.

“It was his decision to make, and he went where he felt comfortable,” LeBron James told reporters on Thursday. “Coach Lloyd is a straight shooter. Gave him exactly what they believe in him, what they thought about him as a person, as a player. We’re happy to be part of the Bear Down community now.”
James is a 6-foot-4 guard from Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles and is a three-star recruit, part of the 2025 recruiting class.
247 Sports ranked him the No. 47 shooting guard in the 2025 class and No. 30 recruit out of California. He picked Arizona after receiving offers from Ohio State and Duquesne.
