Cardinals hosting Northwestern OT Caleb Tiernan for top 30 visit

Northwestern offensive tackle Caleb Tiernan is visiting the Arizona Cardinals on a top 30 visit Wednesday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The 6-foot-8, 323-pounder is coming off his fifth season at Northwestern where he appeared in 13 games. He allowed three sacks and four QB hits, according to Pro Football Focus.

Tiernan primarily played left tackle since 2023 but did work at right tackle earlier in his college career. He was also used sparingly at right guard.

At the NFL Draft Combine, Tiernan wowed behind a 35.50-inch vertical that paced all participating offensive linemen. He added a 9-foot, 3-inch broad jump.

Tiernan has been projected as a second- or third-round talent this draft cycle. NFL.com’s Chad Reuter linked the tackle to the Philadelphia Eagles at No. 98 in his five-round mock draft. ESPN’s Matt Miller has Tiernan going in the second round at No. 39 to the Cleveland Browns in his seven-round mock draft.

Adding depth to the offensive line is key for the Cardinals after struggling through poor play and injuries in 2025. Center Hjalte Froholdt was the only Cardinals starting offensive linemen to appear in every game last year.

The line has since seen some upgrades, with guard Isaac Seumalo headlining the new additions, though the group could still use some love this NFL Draft.

The projected starting lineup includes Paris Johnson Jr. (left tackle), Seumalo (left guard), Froholdt (center), Isaiah Adams (right guard) and Elijah Wilkinson (right tackle).

There’s a reason the Cardinals’ No. 3 overall pick has been heavily linked to Miami offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa and to a lesser extent Utah OT Spencer Fano.
