GLENDALE — The Arizona Cardinals claimed running back Evan Hull and defensive tackle Cam Horsley off waivers on Monday.
Hull comes over from the Houston Texans, while Horsely was previously with the Tennessee Titans.
Additionally, the Cardinals tried out Jermar Jefferson.
Hull appeared in six games last year for the New Orleans Saints. He recorded 19 carries for 48 yards and made one catch (one target) for six yards.
Before his time in New Orleans, the running back played in two games for the Indianapolis Colts from 2023-24.
Roster moves are nothing new during camp, though there is some intrigue behind the running back addition given Trey Benson’s absence from practice on Sunday.
Listed as RB4 on Arizona’s first depth chart of the year, Benson is squarely on the bubble to make the 53-man roster.
He flashed his burst this camp once he returned into the mix for team drills, though is clearly behind Jeremiyah Love, Tyler Allgeier and James Conner on the running back pecking order.
And given Bam Knight’s special teams ability, the vet could very well take that last roster spot if Arizona decides to keep four backs.
