Arizona Cardinals pass rusher Josh Sweat is “right on schedule” following his activation off the physically unable to perform list, head coach Mike LaFleur told reporters on Wednesday.

“It was great to have him out there. When you get some of those pieces out there, you can feel it with the other guys, too. They were happy to see him,” the head coach said ahead his team’s joint practice with the Green Bay Packers.

“It’s according to plan. It’s right on schedule in terms of when he was going to get out there.”

Similar to what was seen during the open portion of Monday’s practice, the plan for Sweat in Green Bay is to focus on individual work as he ramps up on-field work.

It was clear even in the limited showing on Monday that there was some rust to knock off for the premier pass rusher.

No matter how much he does, though, just having No. 10 back on the practice field this week means a lot to his teammates.

“It’s been a while since we’ve seen him out in his uniform. It was refreshing for us,” tight end Trey McBride said Monday. “Eager to see him get going. He’s obviously a tremendous player. He’s a guy who’s been in this league for a long time and had a lot of success. To have him back on the field is going to be huge for us.”

“I haven’t got to play with him yet as far as on a Sunday, so it’s great,” defensive lineman Roy Lopez added. “I’ve known about Sweat. … To see everything firsthand, it’s going to be really cool. I’m excited.”
