Cardinals’ Larry Fitzgerald earns PFWA’s Good Guy Award

On Tuesday it was announced Larry Fitzgerald is the recipient of the Professional Football Writers of America Good Guy Award.

Generally, every Thursday during the course of the season Larry Fitzgerald holds court in front of his locker, chatting with the media and answering whatever questions they have for him.

And, after games, he regularly heads to the podium in the press conference room to accept more queries.

The star receiver willingly shares his insight, while treating the media with respect. Largely for that reason, on Tuesday it was announced Fitzgerald was the recipient of the Professional Football Writers of America Good Guy Award.

The award has been given annually since 2005 and it s meant to recognize an NFL player “for his qualities and professional style in helping pro football writers do their jobs.”

Fitzgerald joins Kurt Warner as the only Cardinals to win the award, with the QB having done so in 2008.

The 33-year-old Fitzgerald is a 10-time Pro Bowler who is the Cardinals’ franchise leader in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. Last season, his 13th in the NFL, Fitzgerald led the NFL with 107 catches.
