Cardinals to play on ‘Rivalries’ field design to match with uniforms in home opener

The Arizona Cardinals will pair their Rivalries uniform with a matching field design at State Farm Stadium this Sunday for Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks.

The new desert-themed uniforms have been a hit with fans since debuting on Thursday Night Football versus the Seahawks a season ago, so much so that the team is busting them out for its home opener instead of traditional uniforms.

A sand, deep red and copper color scheme will replace Arizona’s usual cardinal red and white on the field, with the iconic Arizona state flag painted in the end zones using those colors. Many fans wish the design would be permanent:

The NFL’s “Rivalries” program was introduced in 2025 as a way to introduce community-inspired gear to fans, with the Cardinals being among the first eight teams in the roll-out. So far, the initiative has worked, at least in Arizona, as the alternate uniforms and field have been embraced as a fan favorite.

Unfortunately, Week 2 will be the only time the Cardinals will wear the uniforms this season.
