The Arizona Cardinals’ 6-6 tie with the Seattle Seahawks was a costly one.

Not only did the Cardinals miss a golden opportunity to shrink Seattle’s lead in the NFC West, they’ve lost a key contributor on offense and special teams.

Bruce Arians confirmed a report Monday that wide receiver Jaron Brown tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.

Brown, a fourth-year wide receiver, had been dealing with a knee injury heading into the Seattle game and didn’t practice Wednesday or Thursday. He was limited in practice Friday and was a game-time decision Sunday.

Brown played just one snap on offense and three on special teams before leaving the game in the first half. Brittan Golden saw more extensive playing time at receiver Sunday night after Brown’s injury, playing 23 offensive snaps. The Cardinals were also without receiver John Brown, who was diagnosed with sickle-cell trait, a condition which had been causing leg pain, late last week.

Brown, the Clemson standout, had 11 catches for 187 yards and a touchdown this season and had one special teams tackle.
