TEMPE — The Arizona Cardinals selected Ohio State linebacker Cody Simon with the No. 115 pick (fourth round) in the 2025 NFL Draft on Saturday.
Simon is coming off his fifth and final season at Ohio State where he registered 112 tackles (13 for loss), seven sacks, seven passes defensed and a forced fumble across 15 games played.
“I think as a linebacker you need to have great instincts,” he said after being drafted Saturday. “I think that’s my biggest strength. Having great instincts and being able to tackle well. Then just being a great leader and a communicator is vital for a good defense.”
Simon now joins an inside linebackers room that has undergone some changes this offseason.
The biggest of them was watching two-year starter Kyzir White hit free agency while bringing in outside additions Akeem Davis-Gaither and Mykal Walker.
Leading the way for the room is the versatile Mack Wilson Sr., who is coming off his best season as a pro and gives Arizona an added pass-rushing option.
Who have the Cardinals taken so far in the 2025 NFL Draft?
Before Simon heard his name called, Arizona went out and added Ole Miss defensive tackle Walter Nolen III with the No. 16 overall pick on Thursday night.
They went back to the defensive well on Day 2 with Michigan cornerback Will Johnson at No. 47 (second round) before selecting Oregon pass rusher Jordan Burch at No. 78 (third round).
Arizona has two more picks remaining in the draft.
