The Arizona Cardinals are signing former Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson, his agency posted Wednesday on social media.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the deal is worth $29 million with $16 million guaranteed and spans two seasons.

Tomlinson comes to Arizona after spending the past two seasons with the Cleveland Browns where he registered six sacks, 10 tackles for loss and 30 QB hits in 32 games played (all starts).

He immediately becomes a leading candidate to take over as Arizona’s starting nose tackle, having seen plenty of time at the position during his time with the New York Giants.

The role is up for grabs following the departure of Roy Lopez, who made 16 starts for the Cardinals last year, to Detroit this free agency.

Tomlinson joins a defensive line room that features 2024 first-round pick Darius Robinson, Dante Stills, Justin Jones, Bilal Nichols and L.J. Collier.

Dalvin Tomlinson latest outside addition for Cardinals this NFL free agency

Tomlinson marks the latest outside free agent in what’s been a busy few days for general manager Monti Ossenfort and the Cardinals.

In addition to the defensive lineman, Arizona has agreed to terms on deals with pass rusher Josh Sweat, inside linebackers Akeem Davis-Gaither and Mykal Walker and quarterback Jacoby Brissett.

Much like Tomlinson, most all of the defensive additions have a legit chance to start or make an impact come the regular season.

Arizona hasn’t just added from the outside, either, re-signing a plethora of familiar faces, including Collier, offensive lineman Evan Brown and pass rusher Baron Browning.

Dalvin Tomlinson’s NFL resume

Tomlinson entered the NFL as a second-round draft pick with the New York Giants in 2017.

After four years in New York, Tomlinson had a two-year stint in Minnesota (2021-22) before heading to Cleveland.
