Cardinals fine Jonathan Gannon for sideline altercation with Emari Demercado

Jonathan Gannon has reportedly been fined $100,000 by the Cardinals for his sideline altercation with Emari Demercado during Sunday's loss.

Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon has been fined $100,000 by the team for his sideline altercation with running back Emari Demercado during Sunday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans, Arizona Sports confirms.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter added that there will be no further discipline for the head coach.

After Demercado’s would-be touchdown run turned into a fumble and touchback due to his early celebration of the score and dropping the football before crossing the plane, Gannon was seen face-to-face with the running back.

The head coach appeared to say something to Demercado before slapping his shoulder pads and storming off.

Gannon has since apologized for the outburst.

“I woke up this morning and didn’t feel great about it, honestly,” Gannon said Monday. “In the team meeting, I addressed it. I apologized to Emari, I apologized to the team. I just told them I let the moment of what happened get the better of me there.

“I try to be emotionally stable and calm because my job is to solve problems during a game and kind of lead the charge on that. So that’s not really who I am, who I want to be and I told the guys that today.”

IF Demercado is a real man, he would 1) apologize to the fans; 2) apologize to his teammates; 3) apologize to JG and the coaches and 4) acknowledge that he needed a 'wake-up' call and the slapping on the shoulder pads was nothing.

The only thing that Gannon did wrong was apologizing for his actions.

He was DOING HIS JOB.

It is ridiculous for the cardinals to fine him, he did nothing wrong.

Will the cards fine the joke-of-a-professional player who chose to be an a$s-clown before crossing the goal line?
