GLENDALE — Arizona Cardinals cornerback Garrett Williams did not return to his team’s 26-19 loss to the Atlanta Falcons due to an injury feared to be a torn Achilles, reports NFL Network.

Williams went down in the first quarter with a non-contact injury that the team labeled as an Achilles issue. A cart immediately came out for Williams, with his teammates leaving the sideline and surrounding the cornerback before he was taken into the locker room.

Williams, who was placed on injured reserve earlier in the season due to a knee injury, had recorded 43 tackles, an interception, five passes defensed and a forced fumble across nine starts prior to Sunday’s action.

With Williams sidelined, Jaden Davis got some early run. He was elevated off the practice squad on Saturday.

Williams marked the latest Cardinals player to go down on Sunday.

Before Williams, pass rusher Josh Sweat exited with his own injury during Atlanta’s first drive.

Getting his ankle rolled up on, Sweat needed help off the field before heading to the blue medical tent and locker room.

He was eventually ruled out with the ankle issue.

Center Hjalte Froholdt was also nicked up with an elbow injury but returned after being ruled as questionable.

In his place was Jon Gaines II, with rookie Hayden Conner filling in at left guard.

Then came rookie Walter Nolen III, who was carted off after going down with a non-contact knee injury.

Safeties Budda Baker and Rabbit Taylor-Demerson were also evaluated for concussions but returned to play.
