Ex-Cardinals WR Greg Dortch signing with Lions, per report
Former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver and return man Greg Dortch is signing a one-year contract with the Detroit Lions, according to multiple reports.

Former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver and return man Greg Dortch is signing a one-year contract with the Detroit Lions, according to multiple reports.
The signing came after the wide receiver met with the franchise on Wednesday.
Dortch had spent the past five seasons with Arizona (2021-25). The fan favorite recorded 145 catches for 1,310 yards and 10 touchdowns during that span.
He ran back 95 punts for 858 yards and returned 70 kicks for 1,654 yards.
Before a chest injury forced him onto injured reserve, Dortch was having his best season in as a kick returner with 811 yards on 31 attempts in 2025.
He also set a career mark in average punt return yards (11.6 per game).
Now, Dortch reunites with Detroit offensive coordinator Drew Petzing, who held the same position with Arizona from 2023-25.
Arizona, meanwhile, has brought in Kendrick Bourne as a new WR3 option behind Michael Wilson and Marvin Harrison Jr.
Former Cardinals LB Akeem Davis-Gaither signs with Colts
In addition to Dortch heading elsewhere, Davis-Gaither signed with the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday.
The inside linebacker was second on the team in tackles with 117 in his lone season with Arizona last year.

Dortch was one of my favorites. I’m sad they let him go. Every time he got a chance he produced. The guy caught 29 of 33 Targets and scored 3 TDs last year. He was an underutilized asset.
Ever since his rookie season, Greg Dortch caught my attention as I saw him have the great ability to actually get open as a receiver vs the taller receivers that could jump higher to make catches. Dortch reminded me of another shorter receiver that did the same thing but was not underutilized like Dortch was., that was the great Steve Largent, Seattle Seahawks. Largent, like Dortch, found ways to get open in the messy middle. The Cardinals will regret letting Dortch go.
We could have re-signed local Sahuaro High hero, Christian Kirk, but why bring back a fan fave when you're intent on manning a minor league roster.
