Jacoby Brissett on Cardinals’ offensive firepower: ‘It presents a lot of problems for teams’

When it comes to the offensive firepower the Arizona Cardinals have going into this season, quarterback Jacoby Brissett has made no bones about how difficult he expects it to be for opposing teams to game-plan against.

“It’s been overlooked, but it presents a lot of different problems for teams in how they construct a defense as far as how they’re gonna attack us,” Brissett told Arizona Sports’ Wolf & Luke Monday.

“I think the ability to have all these guys out there and at any point in the game you get to pick your poison as far as who you are trying to use. It’s gonna be hard, obviously, when we get into the game plan, as far as like it’s only one football. The good part about it is those guys are all unselfish, and they just want to do whatever is best to get the team in the end zone, and I think that’s what separates this group.”

The Cardinals enter 2026 with one of their best groups of offensive weapons in a while, highlighted by All-Pro tight end Trey McBride and receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson. Arizona also made several additions this offseason, signing wide receiver Kendrick Bourne and running back Tyler Allgeier through free agency and adding running back Jeremiyah Love and wide receiver Reggie Virgil through the draft.

Through the first two preseason games, the Cardinals have had strong showings from several players looking to make the roster, including wide receivers Jalen Brooks and Simi Fehoko. Through two games, Brooks leads the Cardinals in receiving with nine catches for 151 yards and a touchdown, while Fehoko has caught two touchdowns.

Jacoby Brissett highlights chemistry with Michael Wilson

Brissett looks to continue building on the chemistry he developed with Wilson after the veteran took over as the Cardinals’ starting quarterback last season, replacing Kyler Murray.

In 12 games together, Wilson caught 70 passes for 953 yards and six touchdowns. It was a significant improvement for Wilson, who caught only eight passes for 52 yards and a touchdown with Murray through the first five games.

Brissett credited Wilson for overcoming a slow start and capitalizing on opportunities presented to the receiver in his third NFL season.

“I really don’t think it was me. I think it was all him. I think his work started to show based on the more opportunities he got and him being ready for the moment,” Brissett said. “One of the best teammates I’ve had on this team and throughout my career.

“One of the best receivers in this league, and I think week in and week out he proves that, and he’s come into the mindset in this training camp that he’s out there to prove that again.”
