The Arizona Cardinals formally placed running back James Conner on the injured reserve Tuesday and signed offensive lineman Demontrey Jacobs off their practice squad.
Arizona also signed linebacker Elliott Brown and safety Patrick McMorris to the practice squad, and it released defensive lineman Kyon Barrs to make room for them.
Conner’s season is over because he’s set to undergo season-ending foot surgery.
The 30-year-old finished with 95 rushing yards on 32 carries.
Jacobs’ elevation is notable after starting left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. missed the Week 3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers with a knee issue. He was listed as limited on a projected injury report for Monday ahead of a quick turnaround game Thursday against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Cardinals also listed Kelvin Beachum, who started at left tackle in place of Johnson this past weekend, with a knee injury. He was also scheduled for a regular rest day, according to the Monday injury report.
Jacobs appeared in 15 games with 13 starts at right tackle last season for the New England Patriots.
